Understanding the Similarities and Differences across Maths and Science

• This session will look at how Maths and Science can support each other to ensure that the strategies that are required to be similar are, and any differences are acknowledged.
• Key Language used in both subjects, the similarities and differences
• Topics that are taught in both subjects and how they could be taught consistently.
• The timing of when key topics are taught and collaborating to support students learning.

• This session will cover a strategy to support both lesson planning and developing the way that students develop their explanations.
• Colleagues will understand and practice using the Overall Cause and Overall Effect method for developing explanations.
• Colleagues will be able to use this to support students in developing their explanations and in developing their own explanations to support their own teaching.
