Session Presenter: Amy Cardell

Job Title: Curriculum Area Lead for Humanities – Wilsthorpe School

• This session will provide colleagues with an opportunity to share their NEA preparation lessons, strategies, and resources, fostering collaboration and best practice. 

•  ​Colleagues will collaborate to develop common strategies for teaching and delivering NEA lessons, as well as create shared rubrics to ensure consistency for the 2026 – 2027 school year.​ 

AQA Pre-Release Working Group

Session Presenter: Jasmin Oxlade

Job Title: Head of Geography – Selston High School

• This session will provide colleagues with an opportunity to prepare common resources for the 2026 AQA pre-release. 
•  ​Colleagues will develop a series of lessons resources to teach and prepare students for the pre-release section of paper 3. 

Making Knowledge Stick

Session Presenter: Simon Oakes

Job Title: AQA Geography Subject Advocate and Senior Examiner

• ​​The session covers the types of knowledge in geography (and the overlap) and discuss strategies to make this knowledge stick.
• ​​Colleagues will work with topics from their curriculum to revise lessons and make the substantive, disciplinary and procedural knowledge stick.

Aligning A-Level Lessons

• This session will identify gaps and areas improvements for teaching and provide opportunities for colleagues to share strategies used in the teaching of A level.  
•  ​Colleagues will collaborate to create, improve, and share best practice resources for mandatory A-level topics (e.g., Tectonics, globalisation).​ 

High-Quality Fieldwork For All

Job Title: Head of Professional Development – The Geographical Association

• This session will explore strategies to enhance competency, independence, and progression in fieldwork curricula at KS3 and 4. 
•  ​Colleagues will develop practical strategies and resources that enable students to demonstrate greater progression in fieldwork activities.​ 

Making Landforms Stick

Session Presenter: Hannah Reeve

Job Title: Head of Geography – Manor Academy

• This session will explore the best strategies to improve the T&L of landforms at GCSE  
•  Colleagues will develop common strategies to teach coastal and river landforms and to aid students revising these topics.​
